Is competitive intelligence part of knowledge management?  In some firms, CI falls under the library research staff umbrella.  And if your Library and KM groups are combined, as they are in several firms, then the answer may be yes.

    As per my knowledge & understanding goes KM should be a bigger umbrella covering Competitive intelligence (or library management), training and the like. Anything related to learning, knowledge, reuse & share it should be grouped together with KM.
